Lifelong Rush Resident

Chaz Rorick is a lifelong resident of Rush eager to serve you on the town board! He is a proud graduate of Rush-Henrietta Central School District, and holds two degrees from the University of Vermont (B.S. Environmental Science, B.A. Geography). After college, Chaz began work at Eagleview Technologies, a technology company where he prepares aerial imagery products.


Professional Highlights

Technical Background and Achievements

  • Versed in a variety of spatial analysis software, including ArcGIS, QGIS, Inpho, and Bentley.

  • Contributed data to the Missing Maps Project to assist humanitarian efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

  • Accepted into the Masters of Science program for Geographical Information Systems at the University of Aberdeen to further hone my skills in the field.

Communication and Presentation

  • Presented independent research mapping impacts of wind energy on breeding bird populations at EnerGIS, a leading conference for energy and spatial analysis topics.

  • Delivered a TedTalk in 2016 examining biomimicry and other scientific advancements.

  • Served as a NASA Social Media Correspondent on three occasions, sharing news and stories of NASA's missions with an online audience.

Other Work and Hobbies

  • Served as an intern to the Vermont Lieutenant Governor in 2018, assisting with constituent services and tracking the progress of key environmental legislation.

  • Hosted a radio show for nearly four years at WRUV, sharing news and music on a weekly basis.
